Saarinen Base With Custom Made Rosewood Top
Picked up this wonderful table which has an original aluminum Saarinen base topped by a custom made Rosewood veneer top. This table top was cut to exact proportions and finished with a beautiful Italian Rosewood Veneer. Stunning really!
Now to find some Saarinen Tulip Chairs with aluminum bases to match. Will be enjoyed for a time in our home until some lucky individual buys it for keeps.
Peter Hamburger for Knoll Crylicord Floor Lamp

Maison Jansen Gueridons.
These fab, Hollywood Regency styled Gueridons from the 1950s are just oozing with glamorous style with their Hand Chased Brass and rams head and hoof animal motif. Possibly Maison Jansen and if not a very close representation thereof. Lots of nice patina!

Quartite Creative Corp. 1959
Here is a wonderful pair of Mid Century Modern lamps marked 1959 we recently acquired. I have had these before in singles and have always been struck by their minimalist styling and form. Nice to have found a set!

Otmar Furniture.
Furniture by Otmar is something of local treasure to the South Eastern Ohio region. Since 1960 this handcrafted furniture business has thrived, albeit, under the radar, having a steady and dedicated clientele of aficionados. All the while staying true to Danish Modern design and old school craftsmanship standards. We recently had the pleasure of finding this wonderful chair and ottoman in dire need of refinishing. We and the upholster could hardly believe the quality of the build and frame of this piece. Otmar Furnishings certainly rival the best you can find in the MCM/Danish Modern design and craft.
If you get a chance stop by their showroom at 301 W Franklin St Centerville Ohio. Prepare to be wowed and bring your check book! Mr Otmar told me on a recent visit to his showroom, that he has NEVER ran an Advertisement. What a testament to the quality his family produces.

Russel Wright
Somewhere between Heywood Wakefield and Paul McCobb lies the design elements of Russel Wright. These Conant Ball chairs are a fine example of his great use of beautiful blonde Maple and Mid Century curves and lines. Truth be told Russel Wright designed for Heywood Wakefield in early career so it is easy to see from where these latter Conant Ball designs have their roots. Best know for his American Modern Dinnerware, Russel Wright believed that the table was the center of the home and designed in layers from there outward. If you have moment take a look at his amazing home Dragon Rock at Manitoga, which brought nature and architecture into a stunning union.

Viola!
So we had a couple of yards of this Atomic Age vintage dead stock fabric and decided to spice up this rather generic American Danish Modern arm chair. Now it's making a statement! This will be put to use as a regular addition to our living room grouping.
Paul T.Frankl for Brown and Saltman
Brown and Saltman had some pretty incredible Art Deco/Machine Age designers in their Rolodex. Designers like Gilbert Rohde, Paul Laszlo, Paul T Frankl and John Keal to name a few. These 1940 Saltman tables are attributed to Frankl and the lines are pretty evident in our opinion. These tables will soon be refinished in black lacquer complimented by rich mahogany base and supports. Sadly, someone at sometime, decided to spray paint these fabulous Machine age works of art.
I am a sucker for the clean lines and simple beauty of American Streamline/Machine Age Deco! We will post photos of these refinished pieces in the near future

Adrian Pearsall
Adrian Pearsall is one of my favorites in the underrated MCM designers department. His designs for Craft Associates are pleasing both to the eye and the body. Full of well crafted quality and organic flow they are truly "objets de art" in their own right. For those of us who cannot afford a Vladimir Kagan piece, his designs offer the opportunity to capture much of the essence of Kagan's sculptural form at a fraction of the cost. Be certain though; Pearsell designs are not just some poor mans Kagan subsitute. His designs do stand on their own and are every bit as valid an expression of this design movement that we so love, as some of the more desirable names. Furthermore it seems the market on Adrian Pearsell/Craft Associates pieces, is improving steadily.
But I digress, check out these wonderful Pearsall chairs we just acquired.

Picked up this lovely Heywood Wakefield Students Desk on a whim this weekend. Usually blond is not my thing but this piece just oozes style and the wood is amazing to the touch. A temporary keeper for sure!

1954.....2011
These sad Mid Century Modern rocking chairs manufactured in 1954 were one step from the dump and in desperate need of saving. After a total strip down and fixing their wrecked bases we chose this fabulous upholstery, new dacron, foam and glides and spent a few days ebonizing and polyurethane fume breathing. The result being these wonderful updated vintage pieces. Now to find them a home!

First post...
Hello to anyone out there,
We are an upstart interior design firm attempting to combine our passion for design with our extensive experience of dealing vintage "objets d'art" into a tangible business plan. Of course it has been said, if I may paraphrase liberally for a moment, that if you love your work you will not work a day in your life, or some such wording.
We will be setting up at the 20th century Cincinnati show on the weekend of Feb 26th and 27th if you would like a taste of some of our refinished and not so refinished vintage pieces. Always tasteful yet fully realized in all their glory!
